www.jbmballistics.com
Ballistics calculators can help save you time and ammo by figuring your trajectory in advance and giving you an elevation adjustment for any given range. They are not allowed in FullBoar Competition but when you are practicing, shooting a new load or setting up a new rifle or scope, they are a very valuable aid to establish D.O.P.E for your rig and get you in the Bull quicker each shoot.
JBM has many different calculators as well as general ballistics info. This link will take you direct the trajectory calc. The bullet library is extensive but you can also plug in your own specs for the bullet you use. Add a rough (more precise the better) velocity and a zero range (say, your rifle is sighted in at 300yd) and it will give you elevation adjustments in both distance (inch or cm) and MOA or MILRAD at what ever range increments you set to as far as you like.
As with anything, the better your input data the better the output. Even with approximate data it can get you on the board rather than wasting time and ammo "looking for the splash". It is 2018, you know!
